For Law, Creative Industries and TESOL postgraduate students, this stacks with a further £2,200 faculty scholarship — a total of £4,200 off tuition in the first year, still with no application required.
Belfast is the most affordable way to study in the UK
University accommodation in Belfast starts at £144 a week. The UK government's own financial requirement for visa purposes is £1,171 a month outside London versus £1,529 in London. Entry Requirements
International Foundation Year (IFY):
- Academic: Secondary school completion; country-specific thresholds apply — confirm with Ulster or PFEC Global
- English: IELTS 5.5 overall (no band below 5.5); extended routes may accept lower — confirm per pathway
- Accommodation guarantee: Apply before 14 August 2026 for guaranteed university accommodation
Bachelor's (Direct Entry):
- Academic: Equivalent of three A-levels at CCC minimum; many programmes require higher grades and specific subjects (Maths/Physics for Engineering; portfolio for Architecture; science subjects for Nursing and Health)
- English: IELTS 6.0 overall (no band below 5.5) for most programmes; IELTS 6.5 or 7.0 for Nursing, Pharmacy, TESOL and some health programmes — confirm per course
