Why Choose Auckland University of Technology?
Exceptional Graduate Employment — 96% Within 9 Months
AUT delivers New Zealand's highest graduate employment rate, with 96% securing roles within nine months. This success is driven by mandatory work placements in 92% of programmes and direct partnerships with over 5,000 global organizations. Engineering graduates start on NZD 65,000–75,000, while nursing graduates enjoy a 98% placement rate due to critical workforce shortages.
Ranked #1 in New Zealand for International Outlook
With international students making up 49% of its full-fee cohort from over 100 countries, AUT is New Zealand's most globally diverse campus. This vibrant environment builds cross-cultural skills highly valued by employers and helps students forge lifelong international networks, supported by dedicated orientation and buddy programmes.
World-Leading Applied Research Feeds Into Teaching
AUT's 5-star QS rating for research highlights breakthroughs in AI, robotics, and public health. Students aren't just learning theory; they are taught by researchers solving real-world problems. Partnerships with major players like Fisher & Paykel Healthcare and Auckland FC create unique, hands-on learning opportunities.
30–40% Lower Costs Than the UK and Australia
Annual tuition (NZD 28,000–46,000) is significantly less than UK or Australian equivalents. Combined with Auckland's living costs (NZD 17,600–30,500/year)—which are 30% below London or Sydney—a three-year bachelor's degree offers exceptional value for a top-500 global university, complete with 3-year post-study work rights.
Industry-Embedded Learning Creates Job-Ready Graduates
At AUT, real employer projects are integrated into every programme. Engineering students develop IT systems for Datacom, design students pitch to actual clients, and business students intern at Big 4 firms. This mandatory, practical experience ensures graduates enter the workforce with proven skills, distinguishing them from purely theoretical learners.
